A mid-century modern original painting in mixed media on paper and signed by Irene Pennington (American, 20th century). The artist is unknown but there is a possibility that this work is by Irene Wells Pennington (1898-2003) - the wealthy widow of a Louisiana oilman who not only contributed greatly to the arts but also considered herself an artisan. Either way, the piece is beautiful, in excellent condition, signed, and a very nice example of abstract art using wonderful color and line. The painting is in a gold metallic frame and measures approximately 17 1/4” by 26 1/4”. It is protected under glass. I am an art collector and seller of art so please check back often.
