He is an antique Japanese Samurai Musha Ningyo Warrior White Horse in full regalia made in Japan. He is white papier mache horse, constructed of silk, wood, paper, silk brocade & metal with traditional orange passementerie (fringe and tassels), a black wood saddle with brocade panel and original WOOD step on stirrups, a white horse hair mane and tail, silk ribbons, celluloid hooves, and glass inset eyes. Based on the models from the Meiji era (A.D. 1868-1912), this toy horse doll was designed as a gift to celebrate the Boy's Day, or Tango-No-Sekku A white horse historically symbolized the god of the sun in the Japanese religion
