This is a very rare C.S. 44 Columbus Georgia Iron Works cast iron pot Dutch oven smooth bottom #8. I’ve done some research on this item and they manufactured many items such as guns and swords and cannons for the south, as well as pots and pans and wood stoves and many other cast iron products until the north in1865 captured the town and burned the plant. It was later rebuilt. There pots and pans are a rare find I just wish I had a lid for it. It is well seasoned and ready for use. Or a great addition to a collection.
