Overview: Up for sale is a small woodblock print by acclaimed Japanese print artist, Haku Maki (1924-2000). Maki is the assumed name of Maejima Taadaki. Maki studied under the famous printmaker Onchi, and quickly became acclaimed for his embossed prints, dealing with a range of subjects, particularly those of kanji (Chinese characters). This is shows the Kanji for "Love" in Japanese on a yellow background with a blue sun. This print is tipped to a backing card which indicates it was commissioned by Juda. The print is titled (with the Kanji) at center, signed Haku Maki at lower right and numbered (220/250). An exquisite and rare piece that any Maki collector would love. The print and backing card are in excellent condition. Measurements: Print measures approximately 4.75 inches wide x 4.75 inches high. Backing card measures 5.6875 inches wide x 5.6875 inches high.
