Made around 1880 - 1900. This classic French wire basket was traditionally used for collecting and storing eggs. The bulbous design is very pleasing, and makes an appealing silhouette with the coiled wire handle. Not too big, not too small. The shape is excellently preserved and the metal is not heavily oxidized since it was stored indoors for decades. 11.5" widest part. 12 5/8" high at handle. 6.5" wide at opening. The handle is 8" wide.
